McNeal Agency was founded by Larry McNeal in October 1968. He started the agency after working as a claims adjuster with Hartford Insurance Company for three years prior to October 1968.

The Agency was started from scratch with zero volume. The companies represented initially were Safeco, Kemper, Continental and Seibals Bruce Companies.

The Agency had 6 employees and enjoyed moderate success until 1979 when another agency was purchased, Central Georgia Insurance, with offices in Byron and Warner Robins. Jimmy Walker and David Floyd were added to the Agency for aggressive expansion of the business. After the acquisition of Central Georgia Insurance, the agency had about $2,000,000 in written premium. As of 12/31/2008 the agency has grown to over $27,000,000 in premium and now has 25 employees.

In March of 1992, Jimmy Walker became President and CEO of McNeal Agency and in 2007 Donnie Powell became Vice President. The agency anticipates continued growth under their combined leadership.
